Two Natural Remedies For Flea Removal On Cats

Blog

As soon as you see that first flea jump around on your cat, you will need to act quickly. If you don't, these fleas will irritate your cat's fur and will take over your house. You might be able to eliminate the fleas by trying one of these at-home methods:

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a common household ingredient that can be very effective for eliminating fleas on cats. Fleas do not like the smell or taste of apple cider vinegar, and because of this they will typically leave the cat once it is applied.

To use apple cider vinegar, you will need to place apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle and spray this over your cat. As you do this, avoid getting the vinegar in the cat's ears or eyes because it can burn.

If your cat will not stand still while doing this, or if you feel this remedy isn't working, you can bathe your cat in apple cider vinegar. Before you put your cat in the sink to bathe it, you will need to mix cat shampoo with apple cider vinegar in equal parts. Once you place your cat in the water, get the cat as wet as possible and then rub the shampoo mixture on it.

Let this sit on the cat's body for a couple minutes and then rinse clean. You can repeat this process once a day until all the fleas are gone.

Lemon juice

A second option you could try is lemon juice, and you will need to have real lemons for this this at-home remedy. To use lemons for eliminating fleas, you will need to begin by boiling a pot of water. Once the water is boiling, cut up two lemons and place them in the pot. After they have soaked in the hot water for four hours, you will need to strain the mixture and place the liquid in a spray bottle.

Next, spray the cat with the lemon water mixture and repeat each day until the fleas are gone. Always avoid spraying the mixture in the cat's eyes and ears, because lemon juice may also burn these parts of a cat.

Using natural ingredients to get rid of fleas is a safe and effective way to accomplish this. If you try these methods and are not having any luck, you may want to take your cat to a cat grooming center for professional flea removal services. doggy daycare for anxious dogs

Unfortunately, many dogs suffer from separation anxiety. My dog would rip my house up from top to bottom if I left him out of his kennel while I ran to the store for a half hour. One day, I left him in his kennel while I went to work and came home to find that he had destroyed the kennel and then my sofa. I knew at that moment that I was going to have to do something better for him while I went to work. The very next week, I began taking him to doggy daycare and I have noticed a great improvement in his behavior. Go to my site to find out about doggy daycare and learn if it is something that your dog can benefit from.
